"The 78th General Convention of our Church did a remarkable thing: the General Convention invited us as a church to take up this Jesus Movement. We made a commitment to live into being the Jesus Movement by committing to evangelism and the work of reconciliation — beginning with racial reconciliation … across the borders and boundaries that divide the human family of God. This is difficult work. But we can do it. It’s about listening and sharing. It’s about God.”

Deconstructing White Privilege
Dr. Robin DiAngelo is a social scientist and anti-racism educator. In this video commissioned by the United Methodist Church's General Commission on Religion & Race (GCORR), she discusses white privilege. You can view the downloadable study guide on the GCORR website.
In a similar vein as Dr. DiAngelo's work, educator Peggy McIntosh compiled a list of ways in white privilege affects daily interactions and decisions. You can view her web page: White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack. Veggie Tales creator Phil Vicscher create a video explaining systemic racism for a mostly white Christian audience. You can view the article about his decision and the video itself on The Hill's website.
